EMCWA Scholarships

The Electrical Manufacturing & Coil Winding Association, Inc. (EMCWA) is a technical society dedicated to furthering the conception, research, design, manufacturing, marketing, and the use of electrical products.
The Association provides an array of educational opportunities which enhance the development, knowledge, and use of electrical manufacturing technology.


Criteria

  1. Applicants must be enrolled at the Illinois Institute of Technology.
  2. Applicants must be enrolled in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering.
  3. Applicants must be in at least their third semester and not beyond their seventh semester.
  4. Recipients of the scholarship shall have exhibited traits of ability, scholarship, leadership and interest in the electrical products industry as a career objective.
  5. Recipients must attend the October 2001 Electrical Manufacturing & Coil Winding Exposition and Conference in Cincinnati Ohio. ( Travel and lodging paid by the EMCWA )
  6. The students are also encouraged to prepare a paper on a subject of interest (e.g., an independent study project or an IPRO) for presentation at the Association's annual conference.
  7. Applicants must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better.

Award

  1. $1,000 - several awards available
  2. $3,000 - possibly one award for a student presenting a paper at the EMCWA Expo and Conference. (travel and lodging paid by the EMCWA)
  3. 1 year
