Grainger Undergraduate Power Engineering Scholarships

The electric power industry and its professional engineers play a vital role in improving the quality of life for all humanity. In recognition of the contribution of Illinois Institute of Technology's faculty and students, Mr. David Grainger and the Grainger Foundation have created merit-based scholarships for undergraduate power engineering students. The undergraduate scholarships are $5,000 per year.

Goals of the Grainger Power Engineering Scholarships

  1. To attract exceptional students to the exciting and challenging field of power engineering.
  2. To increase the number of graduates expected to have a significant impact on the power engineering industry.

Undergraduate Scholarship Eligibility Requirements

  1. US citizen or permanent resident
  2. Demonstrated an interest in power engineering through course selections, independent projects, or professional experience.
  3. Preference will be given to students who have completed ECE 319 - Fundamentals of Power Engineering and are enrolled in senior-level power electives: ECE 411 - Power Electronics, ECE 412 - Electric Motor Drives, ECE 419 - Power Systems Analysis, ECE 420 - Analytical Methods in Power Systems.
